I was playing around with photoshop yesterday.
When the White Sox went back to their current black uniforms in the early 1990's -- I loved it. I was such a huge improvement over the parade of softball uniforms they had been wearing since 1976.
Now they have been wearing them for a while, I wish they would consider wearing the Dick Allen RED pin stripes from the early 1970's every once in a while. The Brewers wear retro uniforms on Sundays, I think this would be a great marketing idea for the White Sox.

The man should hands down be in the hall of fame, was well on his way to being a Frank Robinson type of player - the vicious attack by the "other" Frank Thomas and the ridicolus attempts to turn him into a villian and scapegoat (racially motivated) as was the SI cover with a cigarette, unscore what a threat this man was to the old guard. Dick Allen on the field, and Harry Carey in the booth kept the Sox in Chicago and saved the city from all being subjected to the loser image of the Northside ball club. When healthy, the most feared man in baseball, a superb fielder, five tool player who could have the 1973 and 1974 Quad Crown winner, BA, HRs, RBIs & Stolen Bases if not for a broken leg. Put him in now.
