Photo Store relaunch

To the right is my latest Dick Allen original photo acquisition. I bought the slide on eBay a few weeks ago in at surprising low winning bid. This image is pretty common and prints have been for sale for a couple of years now. But, now I own the original slide.

With this unique purchase... I have taken this opportunity to re-launch the Dick Allen Hall of Fame original photo store. The old store was pretty hard to deal with, I hope this is much easier.

You can order 8x10 prints of all the Dick Allen pictures I have collected over the years HERE. If you want to get larger (poster?) sized prints, send me an email and we can work something out. I ordered a 20x30 print of this new picture and it looks great.

I also have Vintage MLB and Vintage Phillies photos for sale.

RIP Bob Feller

Hall of Famer Bob Feller died last night at the age of 92. I had the pleasure of meeting Bob in 2005 at spring training, and he was quite a character. Watching him sign autographs was a study in patience and humanity. He took time to talk to and make an impression on each and every person in line, including my young son. It was a joy to witness and one of my great baseball memories.

He led an incredible life highlighted by a storied MLB career and heroism in World War II. It is hard to imagine an all-star baseball player walking away from the game at the peak of his career to enlist in the Navy.

Feller was a classic "one team player". He first put on the uniform of the Cleveland Indians in 1936 and continued to wear it proudly as late as this summer when he appeared at an old-timers game. He is the only professional athlete in Cleveland to be immortalized in a statute.

Rest in Peace Mr. Feller.

Welcome back Cliff Lee

This has nothing to do with Dick Allen, but since the Phillies are my favorite team because of Dick Allen -- I wanted to share my incredible admiration for Rueben Amaro and the current Phillies organization. The golden era of Phillies baseball is upon us -- enjoy it while you can.

1977 Athletics Gallery updated

It has taken long enough, but today I decided to finally organize the pile of Oakland Athletics images I had scattered on my computer and get them into my new gallery format.

I am willing to guess this is the largest collection of 1977 Dick Allen photos anywhere.

The images with the "DICK ALLEN HALL OF FAME" watermark are owned my me and available for prints.

Enjoy.

Phillies Wall of Famers

I recently discovered this very cool painting depicting a locker room scene with the All-Time Greats of the Philadelphia Phillies. Of course, I was very please to see Dick Allen is included in the middle of the group, with Mike Schmidt's arm wrapped around him. Click on the image to see a larger version. If I made any errors on identifying the players, please let me know. I think I got them all right.
